Nestled in 14 acres of private and secluded parkland in the heart of Royal Deeside, less than half an hour from Aberdeen and its international airport, is the magnificent Raemoir House and Estate, a wholly welcoming and truly authentic Scottish hideaway. It is the perfect retreat from everyday life where its full complement of staff provide bespoke experiences tailor-made to your requirements, whether private or corporate.
Two distinct buildings provide the 18 individually decorated ensuite bedrooms - the older, the Ha’Hoose, dates back to 1690 and has four 4 rooms and directly in front stands the later Georgian mansion holding the other 14.
In the grounds and behind the doors of Raemoir you will find a world of privacy and peace. The Panelled Lounge has open views over the grounds, lawns and Royal Deeside beyond. All main rooms have open fires and window shutters which lend to the atmosphere and in winter especially there is a warm homely ambience where it is not unusual to find guests fast asleep in the comfort of the large armchairs. The equally impressive Oval Room is a unique feature of Raemoir with its Victorian flocked-velvet covered walls and hung with 19th century family portraits and gilt wood mirrors. The room underlines the grandeur of days gone by with its vast, curved windows overlooking the grounds and the enormous Chandelier, making it one of the most splendidly-atmospheric rooms in the Highlands. The Big Fish bar is dominated by the 96lb “monster” which sits above the well-stocked Gin and Whisky Cabinet and serves as a reminder that not all of them get away. Next door, the Garden Room affords smaller parties the opportunity of privacy whether it be for a meeting or dining for up to 12, and the larger Georgian Room accommodates over 70 and is used frequently for weddings and meetings.
Outside, and connected to the house internally, we have our clearspan Marquee which can accommodate up to 200, although it can be extended to create space large enough for almost any event. Fourteen acres of secluded wood and parkland lend themselves perfectly for outdoor activities and corporate days and come complete with a helipad for those wishing to arrive, or leave, in style.
The Hill of Fare behind Raemoir is accessible directly from the grounds and provides increasingly wonderful panoramas the higher you climb. Near the top it is possible to see large swathes of North East Scotland countryside with vistas to Aberdeen and the North Sea. All this offers a quite unique and stunning backdrop, particularly for a bride and groom and, weather permitting, we can take you up there for photographs with a difference.
We might be close to Aberdeen but the seclusion of Raemoir means you could be a world away - the views in all directions are of nothing but private and secluded grounds, hills, forest and countryside.
The flexibility of the house provides you with the opportunity to treat it as your “own Downton Abbey” complete with all “your staff” – just let us know when you are coming and what you want and we’ll do the rest!
If you are looking for the splendour, privacy and indulgence of a Scottish Country House then Raemoir awaits.
We look forward to welcoming you to your home from home.
